Do It Yourself Some fish, including some types of freshwater mollies, need algae in their diet. Here is a cheap and easy way to supplement algae without spending a penny.
Some fish need algae in their diet. A quick and easy way to supplement algae is to take a rock or something out of your fishes tank and place it in a water-filled jar or container. Then, place the jar in an area where it can recieve direct sunlight for the algae to grow. The rock will become covered with algae. Place the rock with algae in your tank for your fish to eat off. Place a new rock in the jar and repeat. Change the jar water sometimes.
